Introduction to Business Continuity
Business continuity planning only works if the people it depends on understand what it's asking them to do. This course gives all staff a clear, jargon-free introduction to what business continuity is, why it matters, and what it means for them personally.
It's not a course for business continuity specialists — it's designed for everyone else. The kind of course you roll out across a whole organisation so that when something goes wrong, people know what's expected of them and why.
What you'll cover
The course covers what business continuity actually is and why organisations of all sizes need it, the kinds of disruption that cause real damage — from IT failures and staff absences to supply chain problems and building access issues — how organisations respond to major disruption and what incident management involves, and what staff can do to support continuity when a plan is activated. The examples throughout are grounded in realistic scenarios rather than theoretical frameworks.
Who's it for?
Any member of staff, in any organisation. It's particularly well suited to organisations preparing for ISO 22301 audits, teams being onboarded for the first time, or businesses that have a continuity plan but haven't yet made sure their people know what's in it.
The course can also be tailored to include your own organisation's plans, procedures, and branding — contact us to discuss options.
What will I get from this?
- Understand what business continuity is and why it matters — explained clearly, without the jargon
- Learn how organisations identify their critical activities and plan to protect them
- A solid foundation for anyone involved in continuity planning, or simply wanting to understand it
